Origin
Our large scarf is made from 100% cashmere, combed from Changthangi goats on the Changthang plateau in the Himalaya, at around 4,500 metres. Tibetan nomad families have tended their herds in this landscape for generations, and the hard conditions are what give the fibre its fineness. We have worked with these families directly and in person since 2015, so we know where the cashmere comes from and how it is gathered.
Format & ways to wear
At 70 × 200 cm this is the classic pashmina size, and it can be worn several ways: draped around the neck, knotted as a sash, or thrown over the shoulders. It wraps and layers the way a shawl does, at about 98 grams.
Colour & material
The scarf comes in 20 shades. Three are left undyed, so the colour is the fibre's own — white, caramel and brown, as it comes off the goat. The other 17 are dyed in Germany to EU/REACH standards, with full wastewater treatment. Dyeing in Germany costs more than dyeing in Asia, but it lets us control exactly which chemicals go into the fibre.
Craft
At our partner mill in Pathankot in northern India, the cashmere is spun into a fine yarn and woven on semi-automatic looms by skilled weavers. The mill employs more than 40 people. Each piece moves through several coordinated steps, and every one of them is done by someone we can name.
The CHANGTANGI scarves are one of a kind! Dreamily soft, truly refined quality — nothing compares. I can really highly recommend them!!

Our scarf are made from the pure changthangi cashmere from our nomad friends in Changthang. The cashmere is transported to Pathankot in the north of India. Here the cashmere is carded, spun and woven. This longterm relationship has grown over 30 years.
We love colors and the flexibility to react to new trend colors. That is why we brought the dyeing process back to Germany. The labour costs are slightly higher but we can totally control what chemicals we use to make the best results for you and the environment.
The shipping costs vary from country to country. For Germany we charge flat 6€.
